Tell us about yourself?

I have always been an aviator at heart. I have been in the aviation industry for decades, starting in the Singapore Air Force, where I met my co-founder, Mike Bogaars. I’ve worked as a commercial and airline transport pilot, and over the years, I’ve also earned a Class 1 Aircraft Flight Instructor license. However, a part of me was always driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation. With this drive to create change and contribute to issue resolution via my expertise and experience, I’ve integrated aviation and entrepreneurship into my life through aviation-related company ventures. My work responsibilities range from commercializing new products to developing an aviation business group.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

My advice would be to focus on what you are good at and passionate about and to dream big. The rest will fall into place as long as you do what you are good at. Not only will you be more effective, creative, and productive as a result of this, but you will also be happier and more successful.

What problem does your business solve?

Our business is trying to solve the problem of global skills shortage by providing a metaverse training campus that delivers AI-enhanced, adaptive training for aspiring professionals.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

Michael Bogaars and I founded Delphi Technology Corp. We believe that the future of aviation instruction lies in the use of emerging technologies such as artificial Intelligence virtual instructors and augmented reality simulations. In response to emerging flaws in existing training programs and strategies, the Delphi Technology Corp team put together a new, exciting and improved way to inspire aviation and aerospace learning using VR City. Additionally, we were motivated to advocate for increased female participation in STEM fields as well as aviation and aerospace specialties.

VR City is a virtual aviation and aerospace training/mentorship platform that provides future generations with the tools to learn, collaborate, and have fun. Our platform solves many industry training problems, such as meeting an increasing demand for training capacity, catering to diverse styles of learning, and providing affordable training. Our goal is to redefine aviation and aerospace training, and we are driven every day to make VR City the best training choice available.

What is your magic sauce?

We are committed to empowering aspiring professionals by enabling adaptive, accessible, quality competency-based training for the next generation. With Delphi Technology Corp’s product VR City, users can engage in self-paced learning experiences and solutions in a Metaverse environment, with the integration of Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality. It features adaptive learning embedded with Artificial Intelligence elements and provides an on-demand training ecosystem with accredited competency-based pathways. With partnerships, our courses are developed collaboratively with major industry players. Through easy accessibility, Delphi Technology Corp provides students with a virtual community, allowing students to utilize our strong connections to their desired industry.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

We envision a sustainable future where quality education is accessible to everyone. Over the next five years, we expect to achieve greater educational inclusion for many more indigenous people living in the remote northern territories, giving them the same possibilities as everyone else to obtain an education and a job. We intend to expand our virtual training platform across other industries, including advanced manufacturing, healthcare, aviation, and aerospace. With the accessibility of our virtual training platform, we expect to improve the gender ratio in the industries in which we plan to expand.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Although many industries are embracing emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality and metaverses, one of the biggest issues I’ve faced is getting regulators and public sectors to embrace these emerging technologies. Because it’s fairly new, regulators and the general public are skeptical of it. To overcome this, we need to educate them on cutting-edge technology’s potential benefits, such as metaverse and artificial intelligence, and provide social proof that these technologies work.
