Interna Furniture Design Ltd. has remained a family-owned business since its beginning in 1963.  When founder Joe Kubecka first started out, his passion for quality manufacturing and furniture design gave him the inspiration to start his own contemporary furniture manufacturing enterprise.

In its early years, Interna manufactured quality residential seating. The company experienced many years of significant growth distributing its products through top mass-merchandisers including Eaton’s and the Hudson’s Bay Company (then Simpson’s), as well as a number of independent high-end furniture retailers located throughout Canada and the United States.

In 1989, Interna introduced its first contract seating line, suitable for mid to high-end commercial applications.  As an area of steady expansion this enabled Interna to participate in many prestigious corporate projects.
