Hudson’s Bay, which is also known simply as The Bay, is a Canadian department store chain selling luxury goods. The department stores are the flagship brand of the Hudson’s Bay Company, which was founded in May 1670 and is the oldest company in North America. The first Hudson’s Bay store opened in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1881.

The Hudson’s Bay stores were operating under the full name of the company until 1965 when they were rebranded. The stores achieved a nationwide presence in the latter half of the 20th century. As of December 2023, the company has 86 department stores in Canada in seven provinces.
