Spinrite’s origins trace to the founding of Perfect Knitting Mills in Listowel in 1914, where the original building still stands. Spinrite today is the largest craft yarn company in North America. They sell at various retailers, such as Michael’s and Walmart, as well as other smaller retailers. Their success is largely due to followings they have developed online. It’s not so common a textile business from the ’50s sticks around in North America. They have several brands:
- Anchor
- Aunt Lydia’s
- Bernat
- Caron (possibly the yarn made in the USA)
- Coats & Clark
- Dual Duty
- Lily Sugar n’ Cream
- Patons
- Phentex
- Red Heart
- Sugar Bush
- Susan Bates
