When you think of Canadian athleisure wear, your mind probably goes to Lululemon. Unfortunately, that company no longer makes their gear in Canada (and hasn’t for years). And they certainly don’t make clothing in a sustainable fashion like Recreative Apparel.

RA’s products are made sustainably, from fabric woven from recycled plastic, by adult workers paid fair wages and working in a regulated environment in Vancouver. Their leggings are made from the plastic of 12 recycled water bottles but are as soft or softer than traditional fabrics.

The company is owned by a permanent resident of Canada who is awaiting her citizenship.
