Medulla is a Canadian AI platform for primary care, built in Ottawa, Ontario. It was founded in 2025 by two clinicians, a dentist and a family physician, who each also hold a PhD. They built Medulla to end the burnout they’ve experienced up close. It provides everything a clinician needs to enjoy running their practice and give their patients the best care.

Most AI tools in clinical care each handle one task in their own window. That leaves clinicians switching between apps and copying from one to another. Medulla takes a different approach: it’s a single AI operating system for the whole practice, where every tool works from the same patient context. That covers patient intake, check-in, the medical record, AI scribe, realtime AI medical evidence, telehealth, patient messaging and AI admin agents. Together they support the visit itself, the inbox and follow-up work between visits, and the patient’s contact with their doctor before and after an appointment.

Connecting other tools to an EMR often means weeks of back-and-forth between the clinician and the EMR vendor, and the result can barely read the chart. Medulla needs none of that. Medulla works right on the encounter page of the EMR a clinic already uses, including Oscar and MedAccess, so clinicians never switch browser tabs or leave the chart. Clinicians install it and it’s ready, reading the open chart and writing back to it. New practices can also run Medulla as their EMR from day one. Medulla is designed and built in Canada for Canadian clinicians, and patient data is kept in Canada.

Medulla is sold online as a subscription for individual clinicians and group practices. Clinics can learn more and sign up at medulla.ca.
