Amy Steele Bags was launched in 2006 when Amy left her jobs at Dalhousie University and a financial risk management consultancy to follow her passion for making handbags. Soon she turned it into a full-time business. Amy comes from a long line of talented sewers. Her mother is a quilter and designer, and her grandmother was a designer and a dressmaker.

All Amy Steele bags are handmade in North Bay, Ontario where Amy has a studio overlooking Trout Lake. Amy designs new collections every year. However, she also makes custom bags to order and has made hand bags for example for Lainey Liu and Natasha Bedingfield.
