Tense Watches is a Canadian watchmaker based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The company was founded by Ken P. Lau who started his career as a clock designer in 1957. He was a pioneer in using natural components in watches, including wood and stone. Ken moved his focus to wristwatches in 1968 and founded Tense Wooden Watches in 1971.

Tense Watches designs and makes high-quality wooden watches that are made from 100% reclaimed or recycled wood. The watches are powered by Japanese Miyota Watch Movements or premium Rondo 6004D Swiss Movements, All watches are made by hand at the company’s Vancouver workshop.
