Tell us about yourself?

Adam Rumanek is an Entrepreneur. Author. Internet programmer. Since selling his first Internet company in the year 2000, Adam has created industry-lauded programs and companies in web, content, big data and next-generation technology. For over a decade, Adam has collaborated globally with corporations, governments, and NGOs, helping enable them to maximize the business potential of digital media platforms. In 2012, the eruption of YouTube – and the exponential population explosion of YouTubers – alerted Adam to the need for a Multi Channel Network (MCN) to help manage and protect users. His solution, and his next start-up venture, he named Aux Mode. Adam is Google and YouTube Certified, 5 degrees, and is also the author of ‘How to Make Money on YouTube’ that can be found on iTunes. Adam is a regular speaker worldwide on digital rights management and content strategies online.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

1. Get advisors sooner.

2. Work on the foundational parts of the company sooner than later. We waited far too long to get an accounting firm, law firm and bookkeeper. All who make it easier in the long run but have a cost when starting up that I did not want to spend. In hindsight I should have paid the bill starting the company as the time wasted building the foundation after the fact was much harder.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

Our employees were not happy and I felt they would leave sooner or later as they were manually processing things. I thought I should automate that thing, which we did. Our services business changed to a product based business once we automated. Our team was the inspiration for creating the product. At the time we did not realize the product we created would be our main focus. But from that point forward our business changed. We broke down all our tasks and automated the processes. The team is still the inspiration behind each goal of the company.

What is your magic sauce?

Make the right decisions with the right information each day. It’s the tiny things that make the big decisions come together.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Add additional streaming platforms and insights for our customers to know more about their streaming audience. The more data we can process, our customers will better be able to understand their audience. We can also provide data to help them create better content.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The challenge we face is to change and change very fast. Change is hard. Especially in the short term.
