PIXI is the best – and largest – product visualization studio in Canada. We offer full 3D services – from images to animation to product configurators and immersive experiences. We combine creativity and technology to deliver world-class content and content solutions, mostly to product manufacturers (our background is industrial design; products are our thing!). We live and breathe for quality – our realisations are bluffing, as you can see on our website. We thrive on challenges and create tailor-made solutions to answer our clients’ challenges. Our greatest asset is our team; we are as good as the sum of our talents. We promote work-life balance, learning, and continuous improvement through a collaborative management approach.

Tell us about yourself?

I am a trained Industrial Designer (and so are my partners) with a master’s in engineering. I’ve been a business consultant in technology for many years.

As industrial designers, we were quickly able to see the potential of bringing tools from the movie and video game industries to product marketing.

This is how PIXI was born, in 2004, when 3D was not yet implemented in all manufacturing businesses. We developed workflow and processes to shorten time-to-market for our clients. We brought flexibility and agility to make their product launches and global marketing activities easier. We built long-term relationships with many major product manufacturers in North America.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

One or two years bring us back to the pandemic… This was an intense period for everybody, but particularly for smaller businesses! I would tell myself to keep focusing on relations – with our team members, clients, and network – as it is what is the most important when all that you know is shaken by an event you don’t have total control over.

What problem does your business solve?

We help our clients showcase their products at their best and provide powerful and engaging experiences to their customers – using all the possibilities that 3D brings.

  • You have a product that comes in many colours and finishes: we’ll create a dynamic 3D product configurator so that your customers can choose the option they prefer.
  • You need to showcase specific features of your product: An appealing 3D animation will help your customers better understand what differentiates your product from the competition.
  • You are launching a new product, and no prototype exists yet: We will use your 3D production files to create a stunning visual so that you can show it to the world!
  • You need to create detailed 3D assets representing your products: We reach results that are bluffing!

What is the inspiration behind your business?

As industrial designers, we understand manufacturers’ reality. 3D is a core activity for most product manufacturers (industrial design/engineering) – we knew that we could use the output of these processes to create value for marketing activities and product launches.

What is your magic sauce?

We create tailor-made solutions/services as each manufacturer has specific needs.

We keep things simple for our clients: they are product specialists; we are 3D experts. We created workflows in which they navigate easily and offer guidance so that our clients can focus on their needs and challenges and not understanding our technical reality.

We are quick, efficient and agile. We have a deep expertise and are knowledgeable on (almost) all 3D tools and technologies. We have a large team; we can tackle large projects and deliver quickly!

Our growth is organic: we build strong relationships with our collaborators (our team and our clients). We really do care about our people. 🙂

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Our reality (3D) is complex and is impacted by many elements that are quickly evolving these days: cellular networks (5G…), computing capabilities (WebGPU…), and the desire for most manufacturers to build a strong assets base plus a cohesive 3D content strategy. We are at the perfect place to guide our clients, defining a long-term vision of an efficient 3D content strategy and helping them make decisions that will support their business needs.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Good question… managing growth while implementing a post-pandemic hybrid work model has been interesting!
