Au Lit has been in operation for over 40 years and was founded by Peggy Byron. When Boutique Au Lit opened its doors in Montreal in 1981, it was one of the first bed linen shops to offer pure cotton sheets instead of treated polyester in Canada. The store proved to be an instant success and you could sometimes find people queueing outside the store.
As demand for Au Lit products grew, the company expanded to include a factory where it manufactured its own linen collection. In the 1990s, the retail end of the business was moved to Toronto. Today, the company is run by Joanna Goodman, Peggy’s daughter, and her husband Miguel.
