FinChat is ChatGPT for Finance. We provide the investment analyst community with a platform to do professional equity research.

It is as simple as asking FinChat, “How have Disney+ subscribers trended over time? How is their growth compared to Netflix?”. This saves time in the investment research process on what typically can be a tedious process of looking through financial statements.

Our mission is to innovate the world of financial data and investment research.

Tell us about yourself?

I am the Founder of The Canadian Investor Podcast Network, the largest podcast network for Canadian finance and business.

FinChat is the product I wish existed 10 years ago.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Keep going. Being an entrepreneur is a rollercoaster of highs and lows. Learn to look long-term during lows and celebrate the wins along the way.

What problem does your business solve?

The time-consuming aspect of equity research and data collection.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

What people call “Scratching my own itch” as an investor.

It was a product I wish existed, and now, over 100,000 people from around the world have used FinChat since its launch in April.

What is your magic sauce?

We have been working on this for the past two and a half years to build robust data coverage. Our competitors are rapidly trying to spin something up now, but data aggregation is a long and often expensive process.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

We would like to be the de-facto AI tool for equity research in the next five years, both with our customer-facing product and back-end business-to-business API service.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The biggest challenge is always verifying that you are building something that customers want and ignoring every other distraction. Focus is paramount.

How can people get involved?

People can check out The Canadian Investor Podcast, or go to www.FinChat.io to try the tool out.
