Natural Pastures Cheese Company is a Canadian company that was established in 2001. The owner, Edgar Smith, decided to start the business as an expansion of his family’s farm which was called Heritage Dairy Farm. Their Master Cheesemaker, Paul Sutter, joined the company from Switzerland and started to develop cheeses for them – winning multiple awards along the way.
They produce their own milk from the cows at Heritage Dairy Farm and they also source fresh milk from both cows and water buffalo right on Vancouver Island. They now have a team of cheesemakers working for them that produce their more than 20 unique, artisan cheeses. A few of the cheeses that you can buy from them are soft options such as brie and camembert, fresh cheeses like curds and mozzarella, semi-soft such as Boerenkaas, firm cheeses such as cheddar and a wide selection of unique and delicious Water Buffalo cheeses.
