Claire Hayek

At MSP Teambuilding, we are all about company culture and team motivation. We work with all types of organizations to help them engage their employees and build a solid corporate culture through workshops inspiring collaboration, communication, and well-being at the workplace. We bring the very best activities to develop and support teams and help companies thrive.

Our in-person, hybrid, and virtual team-building programs are designed to give teams the necessary boost to keep everyone motivated despite the many challenges we face at the workplace.

Tell us about yourself?

I studied engineering and had a 20-year career in process engineering, teams, and project management. I decided to do an executive MBA to take my career to the next level and launch my own company. I was always an entrepreneur at heart, launching small ideas and testing them out ever since I can remember. I also have a career in music as a singer-songwriter-producer, until this day (www.clairehayek.com).

I wanted to combine music and the arts with the corporate world, as I always believed music was a powerful tool to bring people together and inspire collaboration. Helping clients and their teams is what motivates me every day, making a difference and sharing my experience to improve company culture, communication, and collaboration across the board.

Actually, I wrote a book just for that purpose! ‘ENGAGE & MOBILIZE YOUR TEAM: How to Get Off the Beaten Path and Get the Results You Need’ is available on Kindle and Audible as well as a free download via this link: www.mailchi.mp/mspteambuilding.ca/engageandmobilizeyourteam.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Trust your gut feeling. You know exactly what to do. You got this!

What problem does your business solve?

We help companies build strong company cultures and employee engagement to improve employee performance, retention, and wellness.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

I was inspired to launch MSP Teambuilding so that I could connect the business world with the arts. Being part of both worlds myself,  I learned, as an engineer-manager and musician, the power of the arts and music as strong tools to inspire collaboration, openness, creativity, and innovation within companies.

What is your magic sauce?

Our team is composed of artists and successful business leaders who understand the true value of success and have walked in our clients’ shoes. We are a blend of entrepreneurs, engineers, singers-songwriters, choreographers, team managers, photographers, professional speakers and coaches, and more.

We believe in the human-to-human approach (H2H) to help create value for organizations, and we simply measure our success by that of our customers.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

My vision is to increase our reach across Canada and the U.S. and eventually establish partnerships in Europe and Asia.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The pandemic! I had to rethink the whole business model and adapt to offering our services virtually within one week of the COVID-19 shutdown. The speed and agility of our team are what helped us not only survive throughout the pandemic but establish our presence as a team-building leader across Canada.

The main challenge we faced during this process was convincing our clients to adopt virtual team-building activities, as no one believed the latter could be as efficient as in-person programs. Virtual workshops were actually very essential to keep people motivated, connected, and improve their mental health during this difficult period.
