Fred Morden Sr. and his son Blake officially opened Winnipeg’s first chocolate-making business in 1959. Soon after opening, Blake’s wife Shirley joined the business and when their children, Fred Jr. and Cara-Lee were old enough, they were also enlisted into the family business.
Today after over six decades in business, Mordens’ of Winnipeg remains a family-owned and operated company and prides itself in selecting only premium ingredients and producing the finest confections and chocolates. The company now offers over 70 packaged and loose products online and at their 674 Sargent Avenue factory and storefront, and Mordens’ Chocolate has become internationally famous.
