Dr. Liza

dr LIZA Shoes was created from a lifelong love for fashion, clinical expertise, research, and innovation. After over a decade of treating women for high heel-related injuries, dr LIZA developed a stylish high heel that women could comfortably wear without sacrificing their health. Every shoe and bag is designed with you and aesthetics first of mind – and we truly believe that fashion and wellness should be intertwined.

dr LIZA is on a mission to shift women away from compromised thinking. There is a confidence dr LIZA instills behind her products and those who wear them. With a refined palette and silhouette, we feel good choosing dr LIZA time after time. Comfort and style aren’t mutually exclusive.

Tell us about yourself?

I am a body and posture expert who, after a decade of treating women for high heel-related pain as a chiropractor and osteopath, became a shoe designer. In everything I do, I want people to be more comfortable in their bodies. That spans from my clinic work, where I take a hands-on approach to treatment, to my shoe line, where my shoes provide women with the same type of therapeutic comfort that I would provide in my clinic. I also share my expertise on T.V. and various media outlets, where I help viewers to feel and look better.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

If I could go back one year, I would tell myself to accept investment in my company after my Dragons’ Den deal didn’t materialize. We made it into the Den last year and received an offer for an investment, and at the time of air, there were other interested parties. Unfortunately, after the negative experience with the deal not materializing, I was hesitant to entertain other investment offers.

What problem does your business solve?

dr LIZA Shoes

Ever since heels were designed for women, women have suffered the consequences of foot deformities, pain, and overall destruction of their bodies. dr LIZA shoes solve this problem by providing high heels and a variety of other styles that are not only beautiful but good for your body. I don’t believe beauty should equate to pain.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

One of my patients, who was a design director at one of the leading fashion retail companies, told me that I would be the one to design a high heel that ‘us fashion girls’ could wear comfortably.

And she was right! I want women to be able to wear shoes that are authentic to their personal style without sacrificing their bodies. So many problems in our body start at our feet, so if we can support our feet and wear healthy footwear, then our whole bodies are better off.

What is your magic sauce?

dr LIZA are beautiful designer shoes that qualify as orthopedic footwear. The key is that, unlike most comfortable brands, they do not look like medical shoes. They look like high fashion pieces that are fashion editor and celebrity-approved. And not only that, but instead of the design just focusing on the comfort of the feet, I am concerned with the effect of my shoes on the entire body. This is why they are clinically tested to ensure they provide proper alignment and support.

A lot of shoes that are touted as comfort shoes simply have a lot of cushioning. While that may feel good initially, down the road, it often leads to a host of problems like plantar fasciitis and metatarsalgia. Over the years, I’ve seen thousands of patients end up in my office because of super-cushioned shoes that have destroyed their bodies. We weren’t designed to walk on pillows. I care about how you feel now and five years from now.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

The next goal is to get into retail stores. With such great shoes, it would be great to have outlets for women to try them on and experience the magic.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The biggest challenge thus far has been the pandemic. Rising costs, supply chain issues, financial instability, market uncertainty, and rapidly changing trends have made this a very difficult time to run a business.

How can people get involved?

“Every woman should have dr LIZA shoes on their feet.”
