Almanac is a Canadian-owned mill and bakery located in Ottawaโ€™s East End. They pride themselves on sourcing organic heritage grains and milling them into flour themselves. In addition, they focus on milling flour for flavour, environmental impact, and nutrition rather than efficiency. Frustrated with commercial flour production, the owners took milling into their own hands to change the industry in their corner of the world.

They sell stone-milled flour, including red fife flour, rye flour, general-purpose flour, and buckwheat flour. There are a lot of other varieties based on heritage grains, as well as rolled oats. In addition to making flour, they also bake their own goods for sale at their mill. You can get fresh-baked sourdough loaves, sourdough seed loaves, flavoured bread, muffins, cookies, and scones.
