Purity has been operating in Newfoundland since 1924 and is celebrating 100 years in business this year. It was founded by three St. John businessmen: C.C. Pratt, A.E. Hickman, and W.R. Goobie who purchased a local confectionery and soft drink business and began producing Peppermint Nobs, candy kisses, and flavoured syrups. Since the start, the company has been committed to Purity of freshness, Purity of goodness, and Purity of taste.
The company has been through many changes during its century-long history, including moving to a new plant in the 1950s and expanding its product line. Purity now makes over 50 products, including cookies, biscuits, crackers, candies, syrups, and jams.
Purity products are widely available throughout Newfoundland but can also be found in many stores across Canada.
