Tell us about yourself?

I have an engineering degree from Ryerson and what attracted me to the finance and automotive business were the opportunities to improve on a very outdated way of doing business. With my engineering mindset, I set out to create operational efficiencies in growing a non-prime auto portfolio from originations to portfolio management and even recovery. The auto industry has started to evolve but there is still a lot of work to do and from a financing perspective, there is a lot we can do to help the evolution.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Connect with as many industry peers as possible including and especially competitors in the industry.

What problem does your business solve?

We allow customers with less than perfect credit to obtain financing for a vehicle.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

We aspire to be able to offer a credit solution to customers that otherwise would not have one while also being compassionate and fair during the application process and throughout the life of the loan.

What is your magic sauce?

Service Service Service! Our team works extremely hard for our dealer partners and customers and offers the highest level of service. We also look for diamonds in the rough and try and pick out applications using alternative data that may have otherwise been declined.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Our goal is to become a leader in the non-prime automotive financing space while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The pandemic has thrown a curveball at many industries and ours is no different. We have had to quickly adapt to a work-from-home environment while also trying to preserve the company culture which we value highly. This has also caused some turnover in staff but has also expanded our pool of potential candidates by allowing us to hire out of province.
