Founded in 1989, Drawn & Quarterly is a Canadian publisher that is located in Montreal, QC. They are an internationally known publisher of comics and graphic novels. Established by Montreal native Chris Oliveros, they have evolved from a single issue magazine to a major publisher of some of the worldβs best cartoonists. They have published both North American artists such as Kate Beaton, Seth, Lynda Barry and Ebony Flowers and international cartoonists like Tove Janssen and Guy Delisle.
Drawn & Quarterly has two storefronts in Montreal – La Librairie D+Q which houses a collection of graphic novels, poetry, fine art books, non-fiction and fiction and La Petite Librairie D+Q which is a childrenβs bookstore and event space. The company is known for producing works with high production values and they have been nominated for numerous prizes including the Man Booker Prize (now known as the Booker Prize), the Giller Prize, the Governor Generalβs Literary Awards and the Lambda Literary Award.
