Performance

How does the Hinomi X1 Ergonomic Office Chair perform when compared to other office chairs? Here’s what you can expect from this chair.

Ergonomics (4.5/5)

Generally, the ergonomics of this chair are extremely comfortable. The mesh panels, adjustable areas, and more make it ideal for a range of Canadians. The mesh is breathable, with enough support for even the heaviest of Canadians. A four-panel backrest is fully adjustable to help improve your posture and keep your spine neutral and comfortable through long hours at your desk.

The ergonomics of this chair were perfect from the first time we sat down. The back panels make minute adjustments to suit your spine no matter how you sit. We liked the adjustment on the four panels, and the feeling of being completely supported went over well with our team.

Adjustability (5/5)

It seems like every part of this chair is adjustable. The 3D headrest can adjust up and down, with bracket rotation, and with surface rotation. The entire backrest can be adjusted in 4 levels to best achieve the level you need for your back. Aside from that, there are multiple adjustment points on the back of the chair, from two upper panels to the lumbar support panel. The chair has the ability to recline, which means it can tilt, and pivot, and the armrests are fully adjustable. If you want a chair that can completely fit your comfort needs, this is a great option for you.

Once we began testing out the different adjustable features, we really began to love this chair. Every time we sat down to mess with the adjustment features, we were surprised by a new position or intuitive adjustment that would make our lives easier. The armrests, for example – move in six different ways, which gives us almost unlimited control over how they work and how comfortable they are. Since everyone will eventually need to adjust their chairs to suit their needs, the more features you can adjust often leads to better comfort overall.

Casters (4/5)

The casters on the wheelbase are as luxurious as you might expect. They are smooth and comfortable to use, but they do make some noise on harder floors. They won’t get stuck or jitter across your floors, but they do add some light noise to your workspace. If you work in a carpeted space, you may need to get a mat to go under your desk. This, of course, depends on the pile of your rug.

For the most part, the casters exceeded our expectations. We expected hard plastic ones that might go out quickly. However, these casters are a little more sophisticated with that. We had testers of all sizes try the chair, and even the heaviest among them didn’t have any issues getting the chair to move no matter the surface texture.

Support (4.5/5)

The host of features that you can change makes this one of the most supportive chairs on the Canadian market. However, some users have reported that the lumbar support system requires a bit of learning. It adjusts in a few different ways. Aside from the lumbar support system, the rest of the chair works to effortlessly cradle your body and provides optimized support.

The lumbar support height and tension can be adjusted to provide the most comfortable experience for you. We loved how smooth the lumbar adjustment is, and how easy it was to deactivate. You can set the lumbar support section to be as strong as you need for your back.

Special Features (5/5)

This chair is packed with special features, including some adjustments we didn’t expect. The headrest is completely adjustable, so you can find the position that works best for your head as you work. Flip-out leg supports also add something special to this chair. It doesn’t offer a footrest that could overbalance you, but the leg supports add another dimension of comfort if you need to recline for longer periods.

We’ve tested a lot of chairs over the years, but the flip-out leg rests are a genius edition. It wasn’t difficult to get them set up, and using them didn’t feel like it was going to overbalance the chair. Even this was adjustable in some way, making it a great addition to a chair that was already solid.

Options and Sizes (4.5/5)

Like most luxury office chairs, the Hinomi X1 offers multiple size options. You can choose a Small, Medium, or Large chair. The one you should choose is determined by your height, as they all adjust within a certain range. These options are distinct and extremely helpful in finding a chair that is comfortable for you. On the other hand, it offers three colour options. We usually like to see more colour options, but this is hardly the most important factor for your office chair.

Unboxing the Hinomi X1 Ergonomic Office Chair

The Hinomi X1 arrived in a large box, with each piece of the chair well-protected for shipping. Some assembly was required to put it together once we had all of the pieces out of the box. It may take one person up to an hour to assemble this chair, but the pieces work together perfectly. The box comes with everything we needed to build our chair, including the tools that were required for the job.

Each piece was well-protected during shipping, so you don’t have to worry about your package being mistreated during shipping. Once we got all the pieces out of the box, snapping the chair together was simple. There is a video guide if you need it, but written instructions come with the kit as well.

Our Experience

Our experience with the Hinomi X1 Ergonomic Office Chair was impressive. The various features worked together better than we thought they would, with additional support from any position. There are multiple key features that set this chair apart from some of the other options we’ve tried. The wealth of adjustment features are among them. We found that it was easy to get lost in trying to figure out what the chair would do, so make sure to bring a manual without to get the job done quickly.

Overall, the Hinomi X1 Ergonomic Office Chair was a joy to have around. Our team liked every moment they spent in this chair, no matter what they were doing. It’s easy to sit up to work, recline to relax, or do some mixture of all three. The headrest perfectly cradled our heads, with zero discomfort. You can move it where you need it to accommodate different needs.

This office chair was well-made and beautiful. Unboxing and assembling it wasn’t a pain, and all of the different parts work together so well.

A Universally Appealing Office Chair

The wealth of size options and adjustment capabilities make the Hinomi X1 Ergonomic Office Chair appealing to most Canadians. Unless you are much shorter or taller than average, this chair has an option that will work for you. With adjustability at nearly every point, smooth casters, and special back support, this chair works to reduce strain and discomfort even over longer work sessions. The only drawback is the price, which exceeds the budget most Canadians can set aside for an office chair. Though, it can be an investment to improve your health and overall well-being.
