Tell us about yourself?

Jane Zhang is the Co-Founder of ETCH Sourcing. She loves people and solving problems and has years of expertise working throughout the entire sourcing spectrum, from building and executing multi-million-dollar tactical strategies to being entrusted with some of the most complex and strategic contractual negotiations on business-critical projects. Graduating from the Haskayne School of Business twice over with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and an MBA in Finance with a focus on Global Energy Management and Sustainability, she has returned to pursue her Doctorate of Business Administration with a focus on evolving sourcing and procurement practices.

Jane is passionate about the role of procurement and sourcing in creating lasting value both within the organization and also the environment the organization operates within.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

People will always come first. Your most important job is to make sure you keep in touch with your people, clients, and network.

What problem does your business solve?

ETCH Sourcing provides a hands-on, value-focused, managed service to organizations. All of our team members are employees who are industry practitioners in sourcing and procurement who have a focus on delivering lasting value in all our engagements. What is the inspiration behind your business?

ETCH was founded on the principle of creating lasting value for our clients. We wanted to provide flexible expert service to clients that leaves behind true measurable value and demonstrates the power of procurement and sourcing when leveraged correctly within organizations.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

As with all service-based organizations, quality assurance is paramount to our organization. Our biggest challenge has been and will continue to be how we ensure our clients get the same ETCH quality while growing our team. We tackle this with a sustainable growth model, investing heavily in training for our team to ensure that we are always delivering our top-quality services to clients.
