Our 23-plus-year history in cybersecurity has expanded across three continents and multiple cultures and customs. We have learned that while security is everyone’s concern, not all have access to it. It is our mission to fix this problem.

Tell us about yourself?
I have worked in the cybersecurity industry for over 23 years. In 1999, I formed my first cyber security company in Tokyo named, Secured Infrastructure Design Corporation (SIDC). I grew the company to become the number two ranked security company in Tokyo, Japan, serving Fortune 500 companies, including the local and federal governments and the National Police Agency.
Under my direction, my staff developed several industry-firsts and security services and products, one of which was built for and sold to IBM Japan. I have given countless speeches on the topic of cybersecurity throughout the globe, including a multi-city collaboration with Symantec Japan. I co-founded one of the first security conferences ever held in Tokyo, named PacSec and Tokyo InterSec.
In 2007, I founded my current company, SecuSolutions. We focus on providing essential cybersecurity services, including phishing simulations, vulnerability assessments, deep web analysis, online and in-person cybersecurity training, and specialized consulting, including penetration testing and security compliance audits. All our managed services and consulting services have been developed in-house by our team of certified security professionals and developers.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
Put more effort into dispelling the myth that many security products or services claim.
What problem does your business solve?
Our company makes the complex and daunting task of selecting a security product or service a smooth and painless process. We remove the mystery and confusion of security to allow our customers to make the right choice in protecting their network infrastructure and the data that supports it.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
Good security has historically been made available to those companies that have big budgets and the resources that can manage it. Our company has opened up the opportunity to both small and medium-sized businesses to take part in the security market to protect themselves by offering effective, actionable, and affordable security services and solutions.
What is your magic sauce?
We offer nothing but security services and solutions. We are brand agnostic and only recommend the solutions that our customers need, not the services that bring the most revenue.
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
We will continue to serve our partners and their customers with effective, intelligible, and affordable services and solutions. We will continue to position our services and solutions to those companies that have been restricted by budget or resources so they, too, can protect themselves.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
The awareness of security and its importance to the well-being of companies has always been overlooked or underappreciated. This, at times, has been a challenge for us as a breach in security or weakness in the infrastructure is not always obvious and hard to “see”. To overcome this challenge, we place heavy emphasis on awareness training and conducting presentations that help our customers to understand the dangers they can face before we recommend a solution.
