Grohmann Knives Limited has been producing knives in Canada since 1957. It was started by Rudolph Grohmann who immigrated to Canada after the political situation in his home country, Czechoslovakia, became too difficult, and made Nova Scotia his new home.
Grohmann Knives is still a family-owned company. Today it is run by Michael Jr. and his daughter Michelle and the company employs around 25 employees. Over the years, the company has continued to grow its product lines, which now include award-winning outdoor and kitchen knives. Anyone visiting the area can take a free factory tour to see how the knives are made.
