Since 1983, Imperial Metal has strived to become a one-stop-shop by offering a complete Structural, Miscellaneous and Custom Metal Fabrication solution. We are able to make the building process less complicated.

Our mission is building to improve lives!

Tell us about yourself?

It is a third-generation business, so I have always been involved. I spent six years away at Youth for Christ, which helped me learn many leadership and communication skills. I returned in 2010 as a purchaser and continued to learn every aspect of the business by leading each department.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Do not underestimate the power of a clear vision communicated company-wide.

What problem does your business solve?

Imperial Metal

Imperial helps provide shelter, schooling, health, and the growth of communities by building structures.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

40 years ago, it was to help farmers fix equipment. Today, we strive to create a positive work environment with good opportunities to grow in the construction industry.

What is your magic sauce?

Full service. We do not subcontract, so we control all scopes from drafting to installation. We focus on communication by providing updates and phone calls, and we have a large team for customers to access answers quickly.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Continue to expand communication tools to help contractors and establish two more sub-companies to continue growing leaders and the overall company.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

In 2017, we experienced an extreme financial crisis which forced us to look internally and change how we structured our communication, goals, and vision. We dug out of that and have been growing stronger ever since.

How can people get involved?

We work with General Contractors, Developers, Architects and Engineers, and even directly with owners at times. You can email estimate@imperialmetal.ca, call at 204-326-6683, or visit our website at www.imperialmetal.ca.
