Tell us about yourself?
I was a health professional for eight years. Then I experienced a position as a Health Director in an AI-based platform in the U.S. at the same time as having my first baby. When I had my second baby, I founded CoeurWay with my husband, who is also a health professional. We both want to make a difference in the health system and help professionals to be happier and more efficient.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
Just go for it, girl. Life’s short, and you got it! Taking risks is okay. Let’s do this 😀
What problem does your business solve?
The overload of paperwork that health professionals have to do every time they meet a patient.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
Us, our friends, and multiple stories of health professionals who love what they do but hate the paperwork so much that a lot of them decide to quit their professions because they feel more like a secretary than a health professional. But we need them, so it was heartbreaking to see that happening.
What is your magic sauce?
We are French innovators, and technologies are often available only in English or Spanish. CoeurWay (Coeur=Heart) offers the French professional an innovative technology to perform better and be happier. Coeur(Heart), because we are in the health industry and Way because we are creating a new way to practice. The other magic sauce is the team and surroundings. We managed to mobilize experts, a team, and other leaders, which opened many doors for our project!
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
The plan is to make the software available for the Canadian and European markets so that professionals around the world can benefit from the technology. The goal is that the project continues to grow, and the impact continues to be done! In five years, CoeurWay might be sold by another company that’ll continue to make it bloom to its best potential!
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
Running a business means you have to face a lot of UPS and a lot of DOWNS, and it’s so normal and makes the journey beautiful, according to me. I would say the challenge we faced as a startup in technology wanting to accelerate faster was the runaway. In fact, for six months, we were facing runaways of two weeks, which meant we had to find creative solutions to keep the business running and surviving. We just got our private investment of 250K$ in July, and now we laugh about it and are proud to have survived until then. We learned from that situation and are looking forward to the future!
