SSi Artificial Lift designs and manufactures the most innovative surface-mounted Artificial Lift systems for Oil and Gas producers across the world. When compared with traditional Artificial Lift systems, SSi offers greater lift capacities and the longest stroking pump in the world. These unique features result in higher production and lower costs. We are passionate about our mission of increasing well production through technology and innovation.

“Well-Focused”, “Best For Well”, “Safety, No Shortcuts”, “Be Nimble”, “Make it Right”, and “Innovation, Next Generation Thinking” are five core values that we live at work.

Tell us about yourself?

I have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, and I have worked in a variety of industries, including Human Space Robotics, Oil and Gas, Medical Rehabilitation, Biomedical and Biomechanics, Crane and Railway. I worked at the Italian Institute of Technology on state-of-the-art technology products in projects sponsored by the European Space Agency and NASA. At SSi, I control all technical aspects of SSi products, including mechanical design, control design, design standards, PLCs, instruments, etc. The main reason I moved to this company is the SSi’s patented design that offers an intelligent system with the greatest lift capacity and the longest stroking pump in the world.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Replacing a traditional technology, which has been in the market for decades, with a completely new technology is a challenge that we must conquer at work. Training operators and people about a new technology is the easiest way to convince them to use it. Spending more time on training people is a piece of advice I would give to myself.

What problem does your business solve?

Those who are familiar with the Artificial Lift industry, in particular Rod Lift technology, know that downhole equipment wear and tear, rod break, and fluid and gas pounding are challenges that this industry encounters every day. Furthermore, heavy rotating equipment of traditional beam pumps and heavy counterweights of new belt lift systems are safety hazards to operators. Moreover, changing the stroke length by touching a button on the screen or balancing the unit in five minutes was a dream in the past. SSi technology addresses all these problems and many more.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

Increasing oil production, reducing installation and operation costs, increasing Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) of the downhole equipment along with providing a safer environment for operators inspired us to work harder every day.

What is your magic sauce?

The longest stroke length, the most intelligent power unit, the smallest environmental footprint, a safer pumping unit, and easy to operate are ingredients of our magic sauce.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Jacking up our sales through introducing this technology to new people and training more operators about the benefits of using this intelligent system.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Fluctuating oil prices and supply chain issues during Covid-19, along with increased shipping costs, are among the biggest challenges we have faced in the last few years. We have decided to keep enough parts and pieces in our inventory in our facility to be able to respond quickly to our clients’ needs and requests.
