We’re a Productivity Innovation Solutions firm based in GTA, Ontario. We deliver top-line and bottom-line results and won’t engage if we are not sure we can deliver exceptional outcomes. In our engagements with small to medium manufacturers, we have developed feasible solutions that have, for example, resulted in increasing the production rate by more than 40 percent with minimal to no capital investment.
Our Core Partner designation with the BDC (Bank of Development Canada) and strategic partnership with the Return-on-Investment Institute have accelerated our contributions to the Canadian economy.
Tell us about yourself?
I started learning about Japanese management methods and their unique way of transforming their businesses 25 years ago. It was fascinating to learn how they were able to move from low-quality manufacturers into world-class enterprises. The more I learned about their secrets, the more excited I became about the prospect of becoming a sensei and helping businesses improve their productivity. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to learning and applying these concepts. Each of my clients and projects has been unique and special, and I’ve etched their stories into my mind to expand my learnings.
Like any other profession, my work also comes with its share of experiences – the good, the bad, and the ugly. The good stories revolve around remarkable entrepreneurs and the fruitful collaborations that led to substantial increases in production rates, sometimes even tripling them with minimal investments. On the flip side, the bad experiences often stem from navigating the complexities and politics of larger organizations. Fortunately, in many instances, we had supportive executive sponsors who came to the rescue and saved the projects. The truly unpleasant experiences are rare but occasionally involve exposing political abuses within the system, often attributed to a select few within the organization. In most cases, these issues have been amicably resolved, resulting in positive outcomes.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
I would tell myself: “Morteza, the only thing that doesn’t change is the change itself. Always be prepared and geared up for the disruptive shifts as well as incremental changes that lie ahead.”
What problem does your business solve?
We are proactive problem solvers. Whenever our clients encounter productivity issues, they contact us, and we promptly engage with them to deliver cost-effective solutions.
We mainly start by leveraging the innate capacities within the organizations and avoid introducing disruptive concepts with minimum value to our clients.
In most cases, we start by enhancing productivity by applying our methodologies to their operations. Usually, a 40 to 50 percent gain is expected. After this, we collaborate with our clients to figure out what are the next steps to give them the best value for the money they may want to invest in their organizations. We have learned that entrepreneurs are practical and are looking for solutions to their problems, and they avoid unnecessary capital investments. They understand the value of running a lean business, and when they see the right solution for their real problem, they are open to trying new ways and even take reasonable risks and invest in potential improvement areas as well. We partner-up with our clients to improve their staff retention and productivity while improving their top line and bottom line, and that’s what matters most about our approach.
