Tell us about yourself?

I grew up in a family of home builders. My family has built over 17,000 homes in Alberta. 10 years ago, I started working in new home sales, which was when I realized that new home buyers have no idea what they are buying or what it would look like. After working in sales for four years, I decided to combine my first-hand knowledge of selling over 100 new homes with my over 20 years of experience making video games. My first company was acquired in 2019 after three years in business, and ResVR is a 2.0 version where I have taken the lessons I learned the hard way in my first company to create an industry-leading visualization platform.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Save more money because you’re going to start a company soon, and you’ll need it.

What problem does your business solve?

We help speed up sales for real estate developers and increase their profits by over five per cent.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

Growing up in the home-building industry and seeing my family’s dedication to building great homes was very inspiring to me. Witnessing the pain that new home buyers go through first-hand when they decide to build a new home, the biggest purchase of their life, and are confronted with the reality of picking every product that will be installed into their home. I knew there could be a better way, and that’s what I am fanatically driven to solve.

What is your magic sauce?

We provide unlimited visualization content from our software, and we partner with our customers to build custom features that they request for their projects. Also, I have the insight to see technically what is possible and functionally how software like ours can operate from a real estate developer’s perspective, especially when it comes to providing a digitally supported sales experience.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

We want to capture 10 per cent of the 3D visualization market and work with the top developers in Canada and the US.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Getting my old team back together to start a new business. Things didn’t go great for my team during our last acquisition because they only wanted to bring me along for the ride. I offered them an equity partnership agreement so that history wouldn’t repeat itself if we were acquired in the future.
