On the Water Designs is a family-owned dock manufacturer and installer. The company was founded in 2000 as a small rental facility operating in the Muskoka area. The goal of the founders was to build long-lasting dock systems. Today On the Water Designs offers several different lines of docks, as well as many dock-related items.

Since its founding, the company has grown rapidly and in 2008 acquired its largest local competitor. The acquired company was importing pole dock systems from China and On the Water Designs to bring the production back home. In the process, the company also removed shipping costs and middlemen and gained tighter control over the quality of the products.
