The Little Potato Company is a Canadian company that has been around since 1998. One of the founders, Jacob Van Der Schaaf, remembered working in his father’s potato fields in Holland as a boy and he decided to grow some small potatoes in Alberta. Jacob and his daughter started small but the company grew quickly – they had a plant by 2000, harvested all year round by 2007 and eventually built a 95,000 square foot plant in Edmonton.
With the idea to make potatoes quickly and easily, they created a line of five potato products that are microwave ready in 5 minutes and another line of three potato products that are oven or grill ready. This is a sampling of the potatoes they sell by the bag: Little Reds, Little Yellows, Little Fingerlings, Little Purely Purples, Little Duos and Organic Little Duos.
