Tell us about yourself?

Innovation is the process of creating real solutions that are used to solve real problems. My education (Msc Engineering/MBA Technology Commercialization) set my career in a direction that aligns with technical innovation—building technology that is used to solve real problems. I have been in leadership positions for technology companies for the past 20 years. The common thread is always bringing technology to market. I am passionate about building technology and seeing it successfully used by people to make their lives better.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Put more focus on that which is important, and less on that which is urgent.

What problem does your business solve?

Our target market is companies that have a production capacity that is greater than the demand for their products and services. These businesses do not have enough resources or the time that is required to engage with prospects that are a match for their excess capacity of value. With our software and expertise, we help businesses build scalable customer acquisition and retention solutions.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

Originally, we set out to solve the problem of helping those that market for many optimize demand generation. Specifically, there did not exist infrastructure for marketing agencies that helped them do what they do at scale. Thus we built a multi-tenant marketing automation platform that we sold as infrastructure to marketing agencies. This evolved into providing a sales enablement platform and marketing/sales infrastructure for companies that are faced with driving customer acquisition for multiple brands/clients.

What is your magic sauce?

We provide an all-in-one marketing and sales platform that supports multiple ‘tenant’ accounts. No other platform is designed to scale operations across multiple brand lines or client accounts

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

We want to become the number one marketing infrastructure used by marketing agencies in North America. We would like to have 80 per cent of all senior living operators using ActiveDEMAND as their demand generation platform. Finally, we would like to have moved into franchise marketing.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The biggest challenge we face is getting fantastic people to work for us. COVID-19 drove many people to leave the workforce. Like everyone else, we were faced with trying to fill positions. Many people decided to stop going to work as a result of the global pandemic. We have had to shift our hiring to outside of Canada
