Prenco is a private Canadian corporation that was founded in Toronto 1939 by J.K. Chmel. Mr. Chmel left Czechoslovakia just as World War II was starting and opened his machine shop in Canada. During this time Prenco helped the war effort by producing some of Canada’s first airplane parts.

During the 1950’s and the expansion of the automotive industry, Prenco began manufacturing parts for automobiles. In 2019 they celebrated their 80th anniversary and are now one of the country’s leading manufacturers of original equipment and aftermarket parts.
