General Motors of Canada Limited is a major manufacturer of cars and trucks. GM Canada is headquartered in Oshawa Ontario and was formed in 1918 following a merger between the Chevrolet Motor Company of Canada Ltd and the McLaughlin Motor Company, Ltd.
In addition to the headquarters, GM Canada has an assembly plant and Elevation Centre in Oshawa. In addition, it has operations in several other locations in Canada, including Vancouver, Edmonton, and Markham. It also has a network of 450 dealers and the fastest-growing EV supply chain in Canada.
General Motors has two assembly plants in Ontario. At CAMI Assembly in Ingersoll, Ontario, they make the Chevrolet BrightDrop 400 and the Chevrolet BrightDrop 600. At Oshawa Assembly in Oshawa, Ontario, they make the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and the Chevrolet Silverado HD.
