Crown Royal Canadian has been making whiskies since 1939. The first whisky by the company was crafted from 50 select whiskies to commemorate King George VI and Queen Elizabeth’s first grand tour of Canada.
While the company is no longer Canadian-owned, the whiskies are still made in Canada. The Crown Royal distillery is located in a small town in Manitoba, called Gimli. The whisky is still produced using the same processes by a dedicated group of employees. The brand’s Crown Royal Northern Harvest was named the best whisky in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible in 2016. Crown Royal whiskies are widely available in Canada and the US and are the top-selling Canadian whiskies in the US.
