Irving Oil was founded in 1924 by K.C. Irving in his hometown of Bouctouche, New Brunswick. He opened his first garage and service station next to his home, meaning he could be on the job whenever he was needed, ready to serve his customers night and day.
From a single garage in Bouctouche, Irving Oil has grown into the largest refinery in Canada, located in Saint John, and a chain with over 900 fuelling locations and a network of distribution terminals in Eastern Canada and New England. Irving Oil also operates the only refinery in Ireland, in the village of Whitegate.
