Hertel Meats is a Canadian sausage company that makes fresh sausages. Their sausages are processed without wheat gluten, lactose or milk products, and any artifical preservatives. Though the company started this way in the 1980s, their line quickly expanded to include naturally smoked bacon that doesn’t use sodium nitrite or other chemical preservatives. MSG is also never used to season their products, which makes them an attractive alternative to most meat brands on the Canadian market.
