The first Mr Mikes SteakhouseCasual restaurant, although it was not called that yet, opened in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1960. It was a casual, cafeteria-style restaurant where customers served themselves after the steak was cooked. It was the brainchild of Bob and Nick Constabaris who grew the business until it was acquired by Darren and Lindsey Flintoff together with Bill and Kelly Ranford.

The business was rebranded again when the franchise was taken over by RAMMP Hospitality Brands in 2010. This was when SteakhouseCasual was born. Today, most Mr Mikes Steakhouse Casual restaurants are found in British Columbia and Alberta, but they also exist in Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.
