Agawa Canyon Inc. was launched in 2014. I started very humbly from a garage and received much of its initial funding from early supporters through a Kickstarter campaign. The company gets its name from the Agawa River that flows into Lake Superior.

The founders, who share a lifelong passion for backcountry travel, would often discuss the shortcomings of some of their gear while sitting around the campfire. They would often spend time modifying their gear before trips until career transitions led to an opportunity to develop their own camp saw, which eventually led to the founding of Agawa Canyon.
