Jack Victor was founded by Jack Victor, an immigrant from Romania. He started in retail already in 1909 when he opened his first store in Quebec City and quickly came to own four in Quebec and Northern Ontario.
In 1913, a company called The Royal Brand Clothing Company was established in Montreal, and by 1947, Jack Victor became its sole owner and renamed the company Jack Victor and Sons. Despite impressive growth, the company has remained in the hands of the Victor family and is now run by the third generation, with Alan Victor, Jack’s grandson as CEO.
