The first Mark’s Work Wearhouse store opened on August 14, 1977, in Calgary, AB as an industrial accessories retailer. With early success, the company expanded rapidly and went public in 1981. Mark’s Work Wearhouse was purchased by Canadian Tire Corporation in 2002.
Over the last 30 years, the company has grown into the number one men’s casual and industrial apparel and footwear retailer in Canada. Rebranding as Mark’s/L’Équipeur in 2012, the company now operates almost 400 stores across the country featuring a full range of men’s and women’s casual and functional apparel and outerwear.
