Ganong has been making chocolates in Canada since 1873. It was founded by two brothers, Hames and Gilbert Ganong and today it is the oldest independent, family owned and operated chocolate company in Canada. Since 2014, Ganong has been run by the 5th generation of the Ganong family when Bryana Ganong became the CEO and President of the company.

The company manufactures all of its products in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Ganong is also a licensee of the Sunkist brand and they produce Sunkist Sourz, Sunkist Fruit Snacks, and Sunkist Chocolate Blends.

Since 1999, Ganong has also operated a chocolate museum where visitors can learn more about the history of the company.
