McGuire Chocolate Company began life in Calgary, but the family-owned business soon moved across the country to New Brunswick. Much of their chocolate is made from only three ingredients – fermented cacao beans, organic cacao butter, and organic cane sugar.
The company’s founder, Mark, came across cacao beans when travelling and wanted to make chocolate from them. When he returned to Calgary, he realised there were not many chocolatiers making chocolate from cacao beans. Over time, he perfected the craft of making chocolate from cacao beans, and Mark and his partner have now been making chocolate for over six years. They are proud to make chocolate using cacao that can be traced to a single source.
