Hiveshare is a truly unique Canadian company that was founded in 2012 by Chris Campbell. The business is located in Georgina, ON. Chris started his beekeeping and honey business because he was interested in honeybees, honey production and he wanted to make a difference in the dwindling number of bees worldwide. He started with one hive and now has almost 100 at his site.
The name of the company – Hiveshare – explains the concept behind the company. Basically, you purchase a share in a beehive and you receive the honey from that colony at the end of the season. The honey is organic, unpasteurized and artisanal. You can purchase quarter, half or full shares in a beehive. Typically, a full hive will produce about 14-18 litres of honey annually!
