Should You Buy the Recore Mattress?

The Recore Mattress works well for most Canadians, but it’s especially effective for those who need to sleep better at night. While most mattresses aim to improve sleep, the list of features on this mattress is aimed at keeping you asleep throughout the night. If you need better responsiveness, temperature control, and pressure relief, this might be the mattress for you. If you aren’t sure, you can always give it a try during the 120-night sleep trial offered by Recore.

It's Great For:

Considerations:

The Recore Mattress is an all-foam option that uses both memory foam and latex to create a surface that is comfortable and responsive. Here, you won’t find the ‘quicksand’ feeling of memory foam alone. The latex layers relieve pressure but also make the bed bouncy and responsive, perfect for those who move around a lot throughout the night. Every aspect of this mattress is designed to help you stay asleep all night long, as it helps eliminate common sleep disturbances like overheating, motion transfer, and pressure points.

This medium mattress is supportive and comfortable, with contouring foam layers and a strong support base. The cover that surrounds it all is unique. It’s a cooling knit material that uses silver-coated antimicrobial thread throughout. The result is a fresher cover that helps move heat away from you, reducing temperature issues and keeping your bed clean for longer. When it’s time to wash, you can easily zip the cover off and throw it into the laundry.

The layer of graphite-infused latex directly underneath this cooler cover helps reduce the temperature too. The graphite works perfectly as the middle layer between the cooling cover and the cooling gel foam below. Together, these materials wick away heat and moisture, leaving you more comfortable overall. This restorative mattress is great for active Canadians and athletes because it offers cushion and contouring, relieving pressure from your joints and keeping you asleep. This means that your sleep is more restful, and you’ll be ready to face whatever your day throws at you.

Mattress Construction

Recore Mattress Construction

Recore uses several unique layers to produce a restorative, supportive mattress. These layers provide different benefits, but all of them can help you sleep better throughout the night.

  • SilverCharged Top Cover. The SilverCharged cover is threaded through with silver-coated, antimicrobial threads. This reduces bacteria and helps move heat away from you as you sleep. It can easily be zipped off and machine-washed when it’s time to refresh.
  • Graphite Latex Foam. The first layer of the mattress is made with graphite-infused latex. This layer helps lower your core temperature and disperse heat. Heat won’t build up as you sleep, and any higher temperatures are quickly moved away from your body.
  • Cooling Gel Foam. The layer of cool gel foam in the middle of the Recore mattress helps remove any remaining heat. It’s a memory foam layer that contours to your body, providing relief for your deepest pressure points while it keeps you cool. This layer also helps stop some motion from transferring across the mattress.
  • High-Density Base Foam. The support layer is made with motion-isolating high-density foam. It helps provide better balance and alignment for all sleepers, but it also stops motion as it happens. This layer keeps you comfortable and keeps your restless partner from waking you up.

Firmness

5.5 on Firmness Scale

This mattress is of medium firmness. Medium is the perfect firmness level for side sleepers, some stomach sleepers, and light back sleepers. This mattress feels softer than most of the other mattresses on the Canadian market, which tend to stick to medium-firm foams. The result is better pressure relief. Thanks to the high-density base layer, you won’t suffer any loss of support, either.

The pressure relief, support, and alignment make this mattress ideal for side sleepers. You won’t suffer from pressure points, but you’ll also get the support you need throughout the middle of the mattress.

Motion Isolation

Every layer of the Recore mattress feature some level of motion isolation. As a result, the mattress as a whole controls motion transfer extremely well. If your partner is often restless, this mattress can help drastically reduce any motion coming from the other side of the mattress. Ultimately, you won’t feel your partner turning over or getting out of bed, allowing you to stay asleep longer.

Recore uses superior motion isolation to help provide restorative sleep. When you stay asleep longer, you’ll be better prepared for your day. If you are a light sleeper, the Recore mattress might be able to help reduce how often you wake up during the night.

Pressure Relief

Recore Mattress Pressure Relief

The Recore mattress offers great pressure relief. Latex and memory foam work together to reduce pressure points, cradling your body without sinking too far into the mattress. The result is a better sleep surface, particularly for Canadians who suffer from uncomfortable pressure points.

Those who sleep on their sides and stomachs usually need mattresses that relieve pressure well, and the Recore mattress fits this description. Latex helps relieve immediate pressure points, while the layer of cooling gel memory foam reduces pressure from the deepest parts of the mattress. You’ll get a more comfortable surface without the sinking that is usually associated with memory foam alone.

Temperature Control

The Recore mattress is one of the coolest mattresses in Canada. The combination of the SilverCharged cover, graphite latex, and cooling memory foam help reduce heat considerably, wicking it away and keeping you cool no matter how hot you usually sleep. The graphite latex top layer helps isolate heat and shuffle it down towards the cooling gel foam layer. There, it is dispersed, keeping you and the core of your mattress cool and comfortable.

While some types of memory foam hold onto heat, the top layer of latex provides welcome relief. Latex doesn’t retain heat like memory foam, making this the ideal option for those who need to cool down as they sleep. You can use this mattress with cooling sheets or cooling pillows to further reduce heat build-up.

Edge Support

The one area where the Recore mattress fails to stand out is edge support. This all-foam mattress doesn’t include any features to bolster the edges of the mattress. As a result, the mattress can sometimes lose support around the edges. This means that sitting or sleeping near the edge might be difficult.

While you won’t slide off the Recore mattress, sitting on the edge of the bed to put your slippers on might be more difficult than you’d expect. Thankfully, the layers offer a bit of support even at the edges.

Ease of Movement

Recore Mattress Ease of Movement

You can expect better ease of movement on the Recore mattress, especially when compared to memory foam mattresses. Latex foam is more responsive and provides a better bounce, meaning that you can move around fairly easily. Without the sinking feeling that is sometimes associated with memory foam, you won’t feel like you’re stuck in the mattress.

Combination sleepers or those who move around a lot as they sleep will appreciate the way this mattress feels. The surface is comforting and supportive without reducing your movement.

Shipping

The Recore Mattress ships free to most locations in Canada. Remote and extremely rural locations might require a shipping fee due to the extra steps needed to deliver the mattress.

While it can take up to 5 business days for Goodmorning.com to process your order, it may only take 1 to 5 business days for your mattress to arrive. Locations closer to Ontario receive their mattresses sooner, while delivery to remote areas may take the full 5 business days.

If you need to know exactly how long it will take for your mattress to arrive, you can contact the customer care team. They can provide estimates based on your exact location.

Sleep Trial and Returns

Like most Goodmorning.com mattresses, the Recore mattress offers a 120-night sleep trial. This trial begins on the day you receive your mattress. During this time, you can try the mattress to see if it’s a good fit for you. If it isn’t a good fit, you can return it for a full refund of your purchase price.

You have to keep the mattress for at least 30 nights before you can initiate a return. That’s because it takes up to 30 nights for your body to adjust to a new mattress. This adjustment can change how you feel about the mattress, so Goodmorning.com requires you to wait for the full 30 days to pass before you can return the mattress.

Once you are sure that the mattress isn’t right for you, you can initiate a return on the Recore website. The customer care team will arrange for the mattress to be picked up. Most used mattresses go to local charities. If the mattress cannot be donated, it will be sent to a recycling centre.

Either way, Recore will issue a refund once the mattress has been picked up. You won’t have to pay any shipping or return fees unless your location has changed since receiving the mattress.

Refunds are processed within 2 business days. It can take between 2 to 5 business days for your full refund to be reflected on your original payment method.

Warranty

The 15-year warranty on the Recore mattress covers all workmanship and material defects. The full terms of the warranty can be found on the Recore website.

However, your warranty may be void if:

  • You have used the Recore mattress without a compatible frame
  • The mattress has been subjected to improper use, including stains, spills, cuts, and tears

The warranty doesn’t cover normal wear and tear, an increase in softness, body indentations of less than 1 inch during the first 10 years of use, health concerns, or comfort preferences.

If you think that your mattress has any issues caused by poor workmanship or poor materials, you can begin a warranty claim on the Recore website. You’ll be asked to provide photographs with very specific requirements to submit to the team. Make sure to take many pictures, and follow the instructions they provide carefully.

If your claim is accepted, you’ll need to send your mattress back to Goodmorning.com. You won’t have to pay for return shipping. The company will decide if they will replace or repair the mattress. When it is returned to you, it will fall under the original warranty period. The warranty will not be extended or renewed with replacement and repair.

Final Thoughts

The Recore Mattress aims to keep you asleep throughout the night, reducing discomfort and frequent sleep interruptions. The superior pressure relief, temperature control, and support from this mattress help reduce disturbances, so you’re ready to take on your day when you wake up. This restorative mattress is unique, but it offers a host of benefits not usually found on the Canadian market.

Returned mattresses are sent to local charities when possible. If the mattress is stained or unusable, it is sent to a local recycling centre to be repurposed. This is contingent upon local facilities, but Recore does what they can to reduce environmental impact.
