Considerations:

Silk & Snow’s Percale Bed Sheets are the crisp, breathable sheets you’ve been looking for. These sheets provide a comfortable, touchable feel that will leave you feeling cool throughout the night. The 100% cotton construction paired with a breathable percale weave helps increase airflow and reduce heat build-up throughout the night. They come in a range of stunning colours and are available in all six standard mattress sizes, making this set a go-to option for those who sleep hot.

If you like hotel sheets, you’ll love this option. These sheets are made in small, sustainable batches and use organic dyes to create some seriously beautiful colours, including sage green and dusty pink (just to name a few). There are also plenty of neutral options for those who prefer a more standard, classic look for their sheets.

This set comes with 1 flat sheet, 1 fitted sheet, and standard pillowcases. The Twin sizes include a single standard pillowcase, while larger sizes include two pillowcases. King and California King sheet sets come with 2 king-sized pillowcases to accommodate larger pillows. These sheets are great for mattresses up to 15″ tall.

If you want to purchase a matching duvet cover or sham set, you can get them in the same percale weave and colours right from the same listing. It’s easy to get a full matching bedding set to keep you cool and comfortable throughout the night.

Considerations:

The Silk & Snow Egyptian Cotton Bed Sheet Set offers an amazingly soft, silky texture. The long-staple Egyptian cotton allows for a softer feel, especially when paired with the sateen weave present here. You’ll find that these sheets feel luxuriously smooth, allowing for better comfort and better sleep overall. This set comes in five neutral colour options, which include dark blue, light blue, grey, beige, and white. The classic palette makes these sheets ideal for those who prefer a more classic look for their bedroom.

You can find a matching duvet cover and additional pillowcases on the same listing as these sheets. Make sure that you select the same colour to get a complete matching set. The sateen weave of these sheets makes them extremely durable, so you can rest easy knowing that your sheets aren’t going to rip or tear without considerable force.

Each set of Egyptian Cotton sheets is certified by the Cotton Egypt Association, which checks for quality and credibility. This also means that Egyptian cotton is sustainably and ethically gathered. Cotton gathered from Egypt is sent to Portugal to be woven with the help of expert crafters in the textile field.

These sheets are luxurious and feel great on your skin, making them a good choice for those who prefer a more tactile feel for their sheets. If you want a sheet set that feels soft and smooth, this option might be best for you. With a range of size options and a few neutral colour options, there’s something for every Canadian.

It's Great For:

Considerations:

The Silk & Snow Flax Linen Bed Sheets are extremely breezy and comfortable, with a crisp texture that feels great against your skin. If you often find yourself overheating throughout the night, sheets like these might be able to help you feel a little more comfortable and stay asleep throughout the night. This linen bedding is extremely durable and luxurious, but it also comes with a few key advantages over other types of bedding.

Linen bedding is extremely durable, but it’s also lightweight. It’s comfortable in a unique way, and some Canadians prefer the tactile feel of the textured bedding. Linen also offers moisture-wicking properties, as well as anti-static features. This means that you’ll sleep easier overall, without waking up sweaty or feeling the sting of static as you move around.

These sheets feature flax sourced from France and Belgium. The flax is gathered by hand from the fields in these countries. Then, it’s sent to Portugal. Like most of Silk & Snow’s bedding, it is processed and made in Portugal by some of the top textile experts in the world. The fabric is created, dyed, and sewn in these facilities, with experts who know all about their craft.

These linen sheets are also stonewashed, which gives them a softer feel that you can’t get with any other material. After every wash, the linen will soften and become even more comfortable!

Sheet Materials

Silk & Snow Sheet Materials

Each Silk & Snow sheet set is created using different materials. This allows you to choose the option that works best for you while maintaining high quality from the company.

The Silk & Snow Percale Sheet Set is made with 100% natural cotton. It’s crisp and smooth. The percale weave allows for greater breathability, lending the sheets a cool and airy feel that you won’t find elsewhere.

The Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set, on the other hand, uses a dense 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton. It’s silky and soft, perfect for those who prefer a smooth glide over their sheets. They are extremely durable and use a sateen weave to promote softness and a beautiful sheen.

The Flax Linen Sheet Set uses 100% European flax sourced from France and Belgium. These sheets are breezy and lightweight. They feel crisp and have an heirloom quality, meaning they get softer over time. The anti-static and moisture-wicking properties of this material help this sheet set feel unique.

Thread Count

While thread count is not an indication of quality, it can tell you how sheets will feel. It can also indicate how breathable the sheets will be. Lower thread counts are more breathable but may feel crisp rather than soft. Higher thread counts are dense, so they may feel soft but trap heat.

Thread count refers to the number of threads or strands used in one square inch of the sheets. A dense sheet will have a higher thread count, while a breathable weave and construction will have a lower thread count.

Each of the sheets in this review feels a little different due to the different materials and thread counts.

The Silk & Snow Percale Sheets offer a thread count of about 200, meaning they are extremely breathable. This lower thread count lends the sheets a crispness that some Canadians enjoy. Meanwhile, the Silk & Snow Egyptian Cotton Sheets have a softer, silky thread count of 300. These sheets are cozy and comfortable without being too warm.

The Silk & Snow Flax Linen Sheets have an unspecified thread count. The crisp feel of these sheets may mean they have a lower thread count, but they are smooth and comfortable regardless.

Set Options

Because of the way Silk & Snow handles their bed sheet listings, you can always find matching pieces that coordinate the rest of your bedroom. While each sheet set includes at least a fitted sheet and pillowcases, the set composition varies a bit.

  • Silk & Snow Percale Sheets: 1 Flat Sheet, 1 Fitted Sheet, 2 Pillowcases
  • Silk & Snow Egyptian Cotton Sheets: 1 Flat Sheet, 1 Fitted Sheet, 2 Pillowcases
  • Silk & Snow Flax Linen Sheets: 1 Fitted Sheet and 2 Pillowcases

You can purchase additional pieces in the same colours as the bedding for each sheet set. These pieces are available for purchase separately:

  • Silk & Snow Percale Sheets: Duvet Cover and Sham Set
  • Silk & Snow Egyptian Cotton Sheets: Duvet Cover and Pillowcases
  • Silk & Snow Flax Linen Sheets: Flat Sheet, Duvet Cover, Pillowcase Set

The Silk & Snow Flax Linen Sheets are the only option that doesn’t come with a flat sheet. Because some Canadians don’t use them, Silk & Snow has made it easy to add them in separately if you need one. This does raise the price for the entire set, though. Still, offering a duvet cover in the same colour and materials is a great option that allows for a cohesive feel and simple styling.

Colours and Sizes

Silk & Snow Sheets Colours and Sizes

Silk & Snow’s sheet sets come in a variety of colour options. When you are trying to match your bedroom decor, this can be useful. Here’s a quick list of each colour option offered by each sheet set.

  • Silk & Snow Percale Sheet Set: White, Dusk Gray, Oat, Rosewood, Truffle, Tempest Blue, Sage
  • Silk & Snow Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set: Tempest Blue, Vista, Dusk Gray, Sand, White
  • Silk & Snow Flax Linen Sheet Set: Marble White, Vintage Pinstripe, Nimbus Gray, Luna, Petal Pink, Oat, Copper, Olive Green, Tempest Blue, Flint Black

The Flax Linen sheet set comes in the largest range of colour options. Regardless, all colours are vibrant and beautiful, adding a great twist to the bedroom design you’ve already coordinated.

When it comes to sizes, you’ll find that the Percale Sheets and the Egyptian Cotton Sheets come in all six standard mattress sizes (Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King). Meanwhile, the Flax Linen sheets come in Full, Queen, and King, covering larger mattress sizes.

Temperature Control

If you’re like most Canadians, you tend to generate heat as you sleep. With the wrong sheets, mattress, and duvet, this can mean that you wake up sweating and overheated. To avoid this, it’s best to choose sheets that are cool and breathable. If you choose sheets that are too dense or don’t allow air to escape, heat builds up under the sheets and you can wake up too warm in the middle of the night.

As far as temperature control, most of the Silk & Snow sheet sets are great. The Percale sheet set has a light, breathable weave that allows heat to escape rather than build up throughout the night. This open weave provides better airflow to keep you cool, so you are less likely to overheat.

The Egyptian Cotton sheets are a bit dense. They are still lightweight and airy, but they probably provide the worst temperature control out of all of the sheets in this Silk & Snow sheets review. If you don’t typically have an issue with temperature control, these might be the best option for you. They’ll keep you cozy on those long winter nights.

Finally, the Flax Linen sheets provide some of the best temperature control on our list. These sheets are lightweight, and airy, and provide some great airflow for warmer summers. If you overheat easily and prefer an organic feel, these sheets might be great for you. However, they are also a little stiffer than the percale sheets.

The best temperature control here lies with either the Percale Sheet Set or the Flax Linen Sheet Set, depending on how you prefer your sheets to feel.

Feel

Silk & Snow Sheets Feel

Because of the different materials used in the construction of each sheet set in our review, they all feel different. If how your sheets feel against your skin is important to you, comparing the feel of each sheet set might be a great place to start shopping.

Percale has a lightweight, airy feel. The sheets have a lightly crisped texture that remains smooth and flexible. This cotton gets softer and softer over time. These sheets are a great choice if you prefer the feel of hotel sheets. They feel luxurious and expensive.

However, the Egyptian Cotton sheet set might be the most luxurious on our list. The softer long-staple cotton with a sateen weave presents a softer, silkier feel than percale. These sheets feel extremely smooth, and you can glide over them easily. They retain more heat than the other options here, making them ideal for those who like to feel cozy as they sleep.

The Flax Linen sheet set has a unique feel. Linen is lightweight and gets softer with every wash, but it carries a crispier feel than percale. It’s also stonewashed, which lends it a softer and more organic feel than the cotton options on our list. If you feel that your sheets are too stiff, you can wash them to make them softer. Linen is more durable than the other options here, too – you can use these sheets for many years to come.

Care Instructions

All of Silk & Snow’s sheets are machine washable. You can keep them clean at home, and the instructions don’t vary between sheet sets.

To wash your Silk & Snow sheets at home, you must use a mild detergent. Wash them on a cold cycle with like colours to prevent bleeding or colour changes.

When it’s time to dry your sheets, make sure to use dryer balls instead of dryer sheets. You can tumble dry each of these sheet sets on low. Avoid more aggressive cycles and higher temperatures when possible.

The care instructions provided by Silk & Snow offer the best way to enjoy your sheets for extended use. Following the care instructions can improve the lifespan of your sheets, ensuring that they will keep you comfortable for longer. Failure to follow these care instructions may damage your sheets, and Silk & Snow’s warranty does not cover sheets damaged due to improper washing.

Pricing

Each of the Silk & Snow sheets on our list is moderately priced, though the Flax Linen sheets are a bit more expensive than other options. Still, they are in a comparable price range to similar sheets from other companies, meaning that price shouldn’t be a factor when choosing between Silk & Snow sheets and competitor options. Here are the current prices for each type of sheet set and each size offered.

Shipping

Your location determines how quickly your Silk & Snow Sheets will ship and how much shipping will cost. Shipping is free to all Canadian provinces. However, there is a shipping fee for customers located in Canadian territories. The feel is nominal and covers any additional shipping measures to more remote locations.

Shipping times, on the other hand, vary by how far you are from Ontario. Shipping to Ontario, Manitoba, and Quebec takes 2 to 4 business days. The longest shipping times (up to 9 business days) are found in remote provinces and Canadian territories.

Sleep Trial and Returns

All of the Silk & Snow sheets featured in this review use a 100-night sleep trial. This means you have 100 nights from the date of purchase to try the sheets. If you determine that the sheets aren’t going to work for you, you can return them risk-free. You must initiate a return via the Silk & Snow website using your order number to begin the return process.

During the return process, you will have to return your Silk & Snow sheets. They don’t have to be rolled up into the original packaging. Silk & Snow doesn’t pay for return shipping on any of its products, so you will be responsible for the cost of shipping your sheets back to the company.

Once they have received your sheets, a refund is issued within two business days. It can take up to 14 business days for your refund to reach your original payment method. However, it usually appears faster. Actual refund time may vary based on your financial institution.

Warranty

Every Silk & Snow Sheet Set is covered by the 1-year bedding warranty. This simplified warranty covers damage caused by faulty materials or workmanship. However, it does not cover improper care, damage from misuse, or normal wear and tear. Sheets are rarely covered under this warranty because most issues that arise are not caused by faulty workmanship.

Still, if you think that your sheets might fall under their bedding warranty, you will need to begin a claim on the Silk & Snow website. You’ll have to ship your sheets back to the company, but Silk & Snow does cover warranty returns.

Depending on the extent of your warranty claim, Silk & Snow may replace or repair your product at its discretion. If the product must be replaced, it will be replaced with a similar current style. This may not be the same as your original sheets. The warranty is not extended or renewed for replacement products, so they are only covered until the warranty period on the original product expires.

Final Thoughts

Silk & Snow has some of the best bedding products on the Canadian market, including sheets. All of the sheets on our list are of the highest quality. Each offers different benefits and a unique feel, so you’re sure to find an option that works best for you. These luxurious sheets offer great comfort and style you can continue to love year after year.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often you should replace your sheets depends on how often you use them. If you use the same set of sheets every day, you’ll need to replace them sooner. High-quality weaves like percale and sateen can be replaced every 3 years, while linen sheets give you between 3 and 5 years.

While each sheet set has its own care instructions to follow, you should wash your sheets at least once a week. This allows for a clean, bacteria-free sleeping space that will help you sleep more comfortably overall. Make sure that you don’t go too long between washes, as it can lead to damage to your sheets.

The best thread count for sheets varies on the materials. It’s also a personal preference, as thread count is not an indication of quality. Instead, thread count is a measure of density that can determine how a sheet feels. Lower thread counts are better for breathability, while higher thread counts are softer.

Hot sleepers should choose either the Silk & Snow Percale Sheet Set or the Silk & Snow Flax Linen Sheet Set. Both are breathable and airy, allowing for additional airflow. The other options in our review are still great for breathability, but they may retain more heat than these options.

The Silk & Snow Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set is soft and silky. This texture is created due to the sateen weave of the sheets, which gives the sheets a beautiful sheen and a silkier texture than other cotton options. This option is perfect for those who want to slide comfortably into their bed at the end of a long day.
