When it comes to Canadian-made mattresses, Endy is at the top of our list. Few mattresses offer motion isolation better than this one. Even with new technologies and proprietary materials coming out from different companies, few offer motion isolation better than this one. It’s the ideal mattress for couples. Further, the Endy Mattress was created in an effort to bring a no-nonsense, gimmick-free option to the Canadian market. Their mattresses, including this flagship model, work to give Canadians the comfort, support, and motion isolation they need. In the rest of our Endy Mattress review, we’ll look at how this mattress stands out among competitors.

Should You Buy the Endy Mattress?

The Endy Mattress offers some of the best motion isolation you’ll find in a Canadian mattress. If your partner often wakes you up tossing and turning (or if you wake up when they get out of bed), this mattress might be worth a try. It also offers great pressure relief and overall comfort, especially for side sleepers. You can try it for yourself during the 100-night sleep trial offered by Endy.

Here are some of the highlights we’ll be discussing throughout the rest of our Endy mattress review.

  • Temperature-neutral foam layers won’t change with the ambient temperature
  • Open-cell foam construction helps with active motion isolation and some temperature control
  • Balances your body throughout the mattress for better overall support
  • Outstanding pressure relief due to the memory foam layers throughout the mattress
  • May provide better ease of movement than traditional memory foam mattresses

Considerations:

The Endy Mattress was the company’s first mattress, but that doesn’t mean it’s a prototype. This mattress features some of the best motion isolation across any of the other Canadian mattresses we’ve covered. The open-cell foam is part of the reason you won’t feel anything from the other side of the mattress. A middle transition layer also helps reduce and prevent motion transfer from one side of the mattress to the other. If your partner is often restless in the middle of the night, this mattress can help keep you asleep.

This mattress also features great pressure relief. The layers of open-cell foams help promote breathability, but they also keep your body cradled to reduce strain and uncomfortable pressure points. If you sleep in the same position all night long, you may wake up stiff and uncomfortable. This mattress can help you wake up more comfortably and ready to take on your day in most cases.

Side sleepers and back sleepers will be impressed with this mattress, as it offers the right blend of support, balancing, and pressure relief. The dense support layer leads to better alignment throughout your body, which can help you sleep better and wake without discomfort. This mattress may not be supportive enough for stomach sleepers and may hinder movement from combination sleepers. However, a 100-night risk-free sleep trial allows you to try it for yourself before you commit to a purchase.

Mattress Construction

Endy Mattress Construction

The Endy Mattress uses three layers of high-quality foam to create a comfortable mattress.

  • Micro-Quilted Cover. The mattress cover on the Endy mattress stretches to create a more comfortable sleeping experience. It’s machine washable, so you can easily zip it off and throw it into the washing machine when it’s time to refresh your bed.
  • Endy Comfort Foam. The top layer of Endy Comfort Foam is breathable and comfortable. This fifth-generation structure allows for better airflow throughout the open-cell foam. It’s also extremely responsive. You’ll get the best support and contouring from open-cell memory foam while maintaining ease of movement like latex foams.
  • Transition Foam. The transition foam layer is where the best motion isolation throughout the mattress happens. This is the layer that helps reduce motion as it happens. The active motion isolation from the open-cell memory foam ensures that you won’t feel any motion from the other side of the mattress. This layer also provides great pressure relief for all sleeping positions.
  • Support Foam. A layer of dense base foam reduces strain, balancing your body and providing the support you need. This support foam won’t sag or sink over time, so your mattress lasts longer than other options.
  • Temperature-Neutral Foam. The foams used throughout the Endy Mattress are temperature-neutral. While standard memory foam changes feel based on the ambient temperature, this foam will feel the same throughout the seasons. It won’t get softer in the warm summer months or firmer through chilly winters.

Firmness

6.5 on Firmness Scale

The Endy Mattress is medium-firm in feel. It falls at about a 6.5 on the firmness scale, meaning it’s firm enough to offer great support without reducing pressure relief. This mattress feels comfortable for most Canadians, as medium-firm is one of the most popular firmness preferences in Canada.

Stomach sleepers may find that this mattress lacks the stronger support base that they need. Meanwhile, the pressure relief and balance this mattress offers make it ideal for those who sleep on their sides. Back sleepers may find it comfortable, but those with heavier body types might find a firmer mattress more comfortable.

Motion Isolation

Motion isolation is where the Endy Mattress shines. This mattress uses open-cell foam to stop any movement from transferring to the other side of the mattress. Each of the open cells acts like a shock absorber, keeping the motion in check even when your partner is restless. Because of this, it’s one of the best mattresses on the Canadian market for those who share a bed. Couples often report fewer sleep disturbances with this mattress because of the way it handles motion.

If you often wake up when your partner gets out of bed, this mattress might be able to help you sleep a little more comfortably. Those who share a bed in any capacity will enjoy the way this mattress neutralizes motion.

Pressure Relief

Endy Mattress Pressure Relief

Pressure relief is another area that the Endy mattress does extremely well. The layers of foam at the top of the mattress cradle your body without creating a ‘quicksand’ feeling. Standard memory foam may make you feel as though you’re stuck in the mattress, but the Endy mattress manages to help you feel comfortable without this sinking feeling.

Side sleepers and those who prefer better pressure relief tend to prefer the Endy mattress. The gentle cradling support of the memory foam layers helps reduce pressure points, so you wake up more comfortably than ever.

Temperature Control

Endy Mattress Temperature Control

The open-cell design of the foam within the Endy mattress helps traps temperature, moving it away from you and preventing overheating. While this doesn’t work quite as well as gel memory foam, it does prevent some heat from building up as you sleep. The temperature-neutral foam helps keep the mattress from changing with the ambient temperature, but it may not reduce temperature enough for those who sleep extremely hot.

Still, if you don’t need active temperature control to be comfortable (or if you use cooling sheets and other bedding), this mattress might work for you.

Edge Support

Since the Endy mattress uses memory foam layers, it doesn’t offer as much edge support as some of the other options on the Canadian market. When you sit on the edge of the bed, you may experience some sinking or sliding at the edges. If you need a mattress with better edge support, you might be interested in the Endy Hybrid Mattress. This alternative uses the same great Endy materials with extra support throughout the coil layer.

If edge support is extremely important to you, the Endy mattress may fall short. While it doesn’t completely drop support at the edges, it will collapse more than usual when you sit on the edge of the bed.

Ease of Movement

This all-foam mattress is made with layers of memory foam, which can sometimes make it difficult to move around. However, the temperature-neutral properties of the foam can help make it a little easier. Since most memory foam works by reacting to your body heat, it sinks in the places where it warms up.

The Endy Mattress uses foam that avoids this type of extreme temperature reaction. This means that it might be easier to move around on than other memory foam mattresses. Still, combination sleepers might want to seek a firmer mattress, as the pressure relief may inhibit frequent movement.

Shipping

Endy ships all of its mattresses to Canadian provinces for free. There are no shipping or delivery fees when it comes to the Canadian provinces. However, there is a flat shipping rate associated with the Canadian territories.

Endy can only ship Twin to Queen-sized Endy mattresses to territories like Iqaluit, Whitehorse, and Yellowknife. The flat shipping fee is $150 to those territories, though additional fees may apply depending on your exact location.

Once you order the Endy mattress, your order will typically leave the warehouse on the next business day. Most orders are delivered within 7 business days throughout Canada. Major metropolitan areas and regions such as Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver should receive their mattresses within 3 business days.

Sleep Trial and Returns

The Endy Mattress comes with a 100-night sleep trial. This trial allows you to try the mattress for yourself before you commit to a purchase. When you purchase a mattress online, you aren’t usually able to try it before you buy. Thankfully, Endy and many other Canadian companies have included a sleep trial to help you decide if the mattress is right for you.

During the first 100 nights after your mattress arrives at your door, you’ll be able to try it out to see if it works for you. Because it usually takes 30 days for your body to adjust to a mattress, it’s wise to wait until the first month of your trial has passed. Unlike other mattress companies, Endy doesn’t require you to wait 30 days before initiating a return.

If you’re sure that the mattress isn’t going to fit your sleep style or lifestyle, you can initiate a return request on the Endy website. Mattresses should be in good condition without stains or major damage to be returned, as all used mattresses are donated to charities where applicable. While some Canadian mattress companies void your trial if you change location right after purchasing your mattress, Endy will pick up your mattress for a sleep trial return as long as the mattress is still located within Canada.

Once your return is confirmed, a pick-up partner in your area will contact you within 2 to 5 business days. Depending on your area and availability, it may take up to three weeks for pick-up arrangements. Once your mattress has been picked up, your refund will be processed within 5 business days. It may take up to 5 business days after processing for your refund to appear in your financial records.

Warranty

The Endy Mattress is eligible for a 15-year warranty. This warranty begins as soon as you receive your mattress and covers any major damage caused by manufacturing defects or faulty materials. If you find an issue with your mattress, it will be replaced at no cost to you.

However, there are several caveats. Endy’s mattress warranty covers:

  • Visible indents of greater than 1 inch during proper use
  • Physical flaws, including cracks in the foam, during normal use
  • Defects in the zipper assembly of the cover, which may lead to a cover replacement

Endy’s mattress warranty does not cover:

  • Colour changes in products or materials over time
  • Comfort preferences
  • Normal softening over time
  • Stains, burns, cuts, or moisture damage
  • Normal wear and tear during normal care
  • Damage inflicted by the customer
  • Damage resulting from the use of the mattress without a proper foundation

The Endy Mattress is compatible with box spring foundations, adjustable beds, and slatted frames.

There is no charge to replace the Endy mattress if it falls under warranty. Endy will repair or replace the mattress at their discretion, and the warranty term will continue without renewal for the new mattress. Claims can be filed on the Endy website, and you will need pictures of the mattress and information about your original order.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Endy mattress uses a removable cover that can be washed at home. Use a cold water cycle and air dry the cover after washing. All other mattress materials should be spot cleaned with mild detergents when required.

Because of the careful and intentional construction of this mattress, you shouldn’t flip it. You should, however, rotate the mattress 180 degrees every six months to avoid sagging or deep indents. You can rotate the mattress more often to avoid long-term damage, so you can use your mattress for longer.

Once you receive your Endy mattress and get it set up on the foundation, the company says that it’s ready to sleep on. However, we recommend waiting at least 48 hours. After about a week, the mattress will be fully reformed and at its full potential.

Failing to use the Endy mattress with the correct bed frame may void your warranty and result in damage. The Endy mattress is compatible with Endy bed frames, slatted frames, box springs, and adjustable beds. Make sure that you don’t put your mattress on the floor, as this can lead to mould and other damages.

The Endy Mattress comes with a 15-year warranty. This warranty covers deep indents, physical flaws during manufacturing, and defects in the zipper assembly. Endy will repair or replace the mattress at their discretion if they find it to fall under their warranty terms.
